Founders
Demian Bellumio | president and chairman
Prior to founding Hoodiny, Demian was the vice president of corporate finance & development at Terremark Worldwide, Inc., a leading provider of Internet infrastructure services in the U.S., Latin America and Europe. While at Terremark, he executed over $200 million in financing transactions, including a $45 million secondary offering, an $80 million senior debt financing and an $86 million convertible note financing. Bellumio also was responsible for developing and managing a $60 million corporate budget and coordinating investor relations' activities. In addition, Demian is a founding member and shareholder of BroadSpan Capital, Ltd., an investment banking firm that specializes in Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market, with offices in Miami and Rio de Janeiro. Prior to BroadSpan, Demian worked for the Latin American division of Barclays Capital, the investment-banking arm of Barclays Bank PLC. Demian received his B.B.A. in finance, international business and marketing from Florida International University (FIU) in 2000. He is a member of FIU's Dean's Council, the College of Business Administration's principal advisory board. Bellumio was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Ariel Bellumio | executive vice president, entertainment
Prior to founding Hoodiny, Ariel was a Creative Executive Producer and Interactive Studio Manager at Planning Group International, ranked the second largest Interactive Agency in the country. While at Planning Group International, Ariel played an influential role in the production of multiple award winning projects for some of the world's leading brands such as Citibank, Celebrity Cruises, Burger King, Coca-Cola and MasterCard. Ariel received his B.F.A. in Computer Animation from International Fine Arts College in 2000.
Andres Dalmastro | vice president, music
Andres is a music composer, producer, and audio engineer. His work has been in over 1.3 million albums sold by artist such as Q-Tip, Angie Stone, Big Brooklyn Red, Maxi Priest, Big Mountain, Deborah Magdalena, as well as numerous independent artists. He has written songs for company commercials such as Sony, Ericsson, MTV, Lexus, Infiniti, AutoDesk, Miami Heat, and Café Del Mar (Ibiza). Andres has hired or performed with over 150 musicians throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia. From 2001-2003, Andres co-founded and sold Editopia, Inc., a high-end systems dealer for motion graphics, animation editing and visual effects in the southeastern U.S., and the Caribbean. His efforts resulted in sales of over $20 million in the Film and Video industry, and created strong relationships with companies such as Univision, Telemundo, NBC, FOX, PAX TV, MTV, Manhattan Transfer, BVI, and more. Andres is also a shareholder of Energy Health & Fitness, a personal fitness consulting and health seminar firm, and together with the founders, has generated over $9 million in services. Andres received his B.B.A. in international business and marketing from FIU in 2001.
Senior Management
Jose E. Gonzalez | executive vice president, business and legal affairs
Prior to joining Hoodiny, José served as Chief Legal Counsel and later Senior Vice President for Business Affairs at Terremark Worldwide, Inc. As Terremark’s CLO, he oversaw all the legal functions of this fast paced, publicly traded multinational company from 2000 through 2004. As SVP for Business Affairs from 2004 to 2007, José filled multiple roles, heading the company’s global information systems group, managing the Business Process office, assisting the CEO on international development opportunities throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and working with the COO on developing and launching new products and services. Previously, he served as Vice President and Counsel for the Sunbeam Corporation, where he was responsible for all legal and government affairs affecting Latin America, Canada and Asia Pacific. Prior to Sunbeam, José was Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for Blockbuster Entertainment Group, a Division of Viacom, Inc., where he oversaw all legal issues related to Blockbuster's international business operations. He also served as legal counsel for American Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc., responsible for intellectual property, technology and telecommunications matters and, later, for Latin American and Caribbean legal affairs. José started his legal career as a litigator and intellectual property associate with Donovan, Leisure, Newton and Irvine. José received his Juris Doctor from Fordham School of Law in New York, NY and his Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University, Bronx, NY. He is a member of the Bar of the State of New York.
Luciano Ibias | vice president, interactive services
An internet pioneer, Luciano he was on the main team that build ZAZ/Nutecnet in 1995, one of the first nationwide ISPs and content portals in Brazil. ZAZ was sold to Telefónica of Spain in 1999, and Luciano was invited by the corporate offices in Madrid to be on the core team that established operations in the US. He stayed at Terra US, in Miami until 2002, when Telefónica had acquired Lycos. As Global Design Manager, Luciano worked in Boston for Lycos until 2004, when he transferred to the Washington DC area as Production Director for The Map Network. He used his experience to help the company grow more than 200% and closed his tenure helping to sell the Map Network to NAVTEQ for $37.5 million in cash. In 2007 Luciano decided to return to Miami and now uses his extensive team-building and Internet expertise to the benefit of Hoodiny.
Joseph Shavit | vice president, product development
Joseph has over 15 years of progressive experience in online and offline product management, marketing and business development experience within a wide variety of industries including media, retail, consulting, promotions and technology. An entrepreneur at heart, in 1996, Joseph co-founded the Canadian Apartments for Rent Online and grew it into the second largest apartment searching service in Canada. At the Los Angeles Times, he was instrumental in launching and building their online classified assets and as Classified Marketing Director, his department managed B2B, B2C and product management efforts in support of $250M+ in annual revenues. Most recently, as a member of the executive team, Joseph was responsible for building an Interactive division for Action Media and developing industry leading social networking and event marketing websites. Joseph holds an undergraduate degree in Physics and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Manitoba in Canada.
Juliano Pletsch Lopez | director, online entertainment
Juliano, a member of the original Terra.com startup team, has significant Software Engineering and Project Management expertise. He joined Hoodiny Entertainment Group in 2007, prior to which he worked for Terra, first in Brazil and later in the US, for more than 9 years. Juliano was Web Systems Manager at Terra.com, the lead engineer in the launch of Terra.com in English, Terra Dominican Republic, Terra Puerto Rico and Terra Ecuador and managed the development of various official web sites for reality shows aired in Telemundo and Azteca America. During the Terra-Lycos merger, Juliano participated in integration of Lycos’ (lycos.com) applications into Terra.com’s infrastructure. He is also well versed in developing content management systems and methodologies to increase efficiency and control for editors managing multiple content areas across diverse sites. Prior to joining Terra, Juliano served as a Software Engineer for ECS Informática and Computer People, both in Brazil. Juliano received his B.S. in Computer Science from the Pontíficia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Brazil, in 1999 and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by Project Management Institute (PMI).
